When disaster strikes, the heart of a community is revealed through action, not just words. At Mike Hollaway Custom Homes, my team and I take this to heart, stepping up to lend a hand when our Texas neighbors need it the most. It’s not just about building homes—it’s about rebuilding lives.
When Hurricane Harvey devastated areas like Rockport and Port Aransas, and floods caused chaos in Kerrville and the Hill Country, we didn’t hesitate. We organized through the Homebuilders Associations, taking quick action. In Rockport, we spent days tarping roofs to prevent further damage. We cleaned out flood-damaged homes and removed debris, making spaces habitable again.
Feeding those on the front lines was crucial too. We brought in barbecue pits and refrigeration trucks, cooking meals non-stop for first responders and volunteers. Coordination with local fire departments allowed us to distribute donated supplies efficiently, providing essential relief to those affected.
Our construction skills and resources played a vital role in helping neighbors piece their lives back together. In times of crisis, being part of a community means showing up when the going gets tough.
If you’re looking for a builder who values community service as much as quality craftsmanship, I’d be honored to discuss your specific needs. Call me at (210) 490-0069. Together, we can build a better future.
